halloween uprising

major rebellion occurred about an hour before trick or treating was to begin. the cute little bulkley dooby doos were all scoobied out. i, being the rational mother in zion that i am, let my children for once pick what they wanted to be. this is what we got. chase, same as last year, devil (still very appropriate). libs, frankenstein's bride?? indie snow princess. whatever. they had a blast trick or treating with our good friends the blacks and are still on a sugar high!!

i'd take back those words that hurt you, and you'd stay. . .

just kidding, but if i really could turn back time, i'd have you all gather round my cute little picture book that i put together of our trip to tokyo.  because the post beneath this took LONGER than it did for me to go to costco, get the pics developed, come home, put the 150+ pics in their slots IN ORDER, and look through it 5 thousand times.  the computer is not my friend. never has been, never will. i want to SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  technology shmechnology. the good old days are seeming mighty good to me right now.  i tried really hard to post these pics, i would double click really fast and sometimes that would work, i'd pray-didn't work, hold my breath-50-50 shot at it working, you get the point.  nightmare!  so after some pics finally pulled up, i tried to caption and explain, from there, everything went down the toilet.  i got blue text with underlines, black vertical lines that moved all the pics, the pictures would jump from center, to left, to right, oh it was such a fun game of cat and mouse.  i am actually very proud of myself for making it this far without a tranquilizer or bashing something to pieces. 

tokyo was so much fun.  way better than i expected.  jen lives right in the middle of it all.  we could walk everywhere, and we did!  casey isn't sure if he liked speed walking from roppongi to moto-azabu but he was a trooper and carried on.  the city is big, busy, and fun--no wonder we liked it!!  :)  casey and i took a day trip to kamakura and it was so beautiful.  the buddah pictures are from there.  we walked around and would literally bump into temples/shrines, it was pretty darn cool.  we had sooooo much fun spending time with jen and company.  she is amazing and i love her so much.  i told her that this is the first place i feel okay about leaving her.  ryan and jen have lived in england, germany and now japan.  she's miss popularity out there and navigates around the city like an old (but young looking) pro!  thanks for everything jigga!  i love you.

people ask theirfellow blogers in zion questions and people answer. soooo, here's my million dollar question. . .
why is the vast majority of the mormon population republican??? i am so not a political expert but what i've gathered is that "evil" dems are for social programs, welfare, education, pro-environment, taxing the wealthy, gun control, agency(isn't that what side we chose and won the grand prize of this life anyway?). i don't get it. i really and truly don't. doesn't our doctrine say something of the law of consecration and we're supposed to be willing to sacrifice all our wordly possessions? then what's the big deal on taxation? why do red neck mormons love their guns so much? guns kill people! i definitely am for strict, strict gun control. i get that abortion and gay marriage can be very polarizing and a very sensitive subject. i have my own personal opinions but i'm not going to go there today. ask me in person and i just might tell ya! well, i'll give you a little hint, is it so wrong that ellen is so happy right now? can we really know what gay people feel and deny them their shot at happiness? am i missing something? am i going to get excommunicated? politicians in general are scuzy crappy people with little to no ethics. they all have affairs, they all live in mansions, they all point fingers, most seem self-righteous etc. etc. i am not claiming any answers, because i don't have any. i just don't get the whole blind faith of so many of the people i'm surrounded by have. is it the lesser of two evils mentality? is anyone getting riled up? am i a complete moron? have i missed the point? is there a point? should i just delete this post and follow the crowd? somebody help me!!!!

i'm not a baby, i'm indie

indie has decided that she no longer needs a life jacket. let's keep in mind that she is TWO!!!! on saturday we had a pre-labor day celebration with me, my kids, my parents, and jacob and grace. sweet. the family has diminished to me. way to represent hollie!!!! anyway, on this memorable pre-labor day indie learned to swim from damma to pop pop with her head under water. amazing. now, if she could just learn her alphabet or numbers. . .
